The young girl, is holding a baby in her lap. To me this picture looks extremely beautiful. The look on the little girls face looks angelical. The baby is asleep, and doesn't know what is going but the baby feels really safe with his sister. It's like if she's protecting him. The background to me represents peace, that they are happy kids with no worries. This painting brings back memories to me about my sister. about how much I love her. Art brings back memories and emotions. To me this painting made me think about alot of things, since i saw it the first time.I could find the meaning of the work, so it is a representational painting to me

Great post- I also love this piece, and I agree that it has a very calm a peaceful tone. But remember that all works of art have meaning, its just that representational works of art are mire life like and may be easier to find meaning in.
